Council approves soil movement permits for Shongum Lake and Route 10 McDonald's

NJ RANDOLPH — Shongum Lake and Route 10 McDonald's projects move forward with council approvals. The Township Council voted 6-0-1 to permit Shongum Lake dredging and restoration, removing 40,000 cubic yards of lakebed material, with Mayor Forstenhausler abstaining. The Council unanimously approved McDonald's USA, LLC to construct a 3,694-square-foot dual-drive-thru restaurant at 765 Route 10 East, involving import of 4,187 cubic yards of soil and export of 2,188 cubic yards.

The Council appointed Mariam Sabri as Municipal Clerk, succeeding Donna Luciani after 39 years, and adopted ordinances on grease interceptor standards, craft beverage manufacturing in the I-1 zone, and a $72,000 appropriation for pedestrian crossing and police equipment.
