Council Authorizes $1.2 Million Fire Service Apparatus Purchase

NJ RANDOLPH — Randolph Township Council approves $1.2 million fire apparatus to replace aging truck. The council voted 5-0 with two abstentions to authorize purchase of the new apparatus for $1,196,419.11, replacing a 1991 pumper truck that has served 35 years. Fire Chief Mike Vanadia and Deputy Fire Chief Greg Mattes received praise for conducting extensive research and securing a semi-custom vehicle at a competitive bid.
The council unanimously adopted fee-schedule amendments and lot grading permit changes, and introduced the annual salary ordinance that codifies a language access stipend for bilingual employees. Lieutenant Daniel Novoa was sworn in April 10 and assumed command of the Patrol Division.
