Randolph Council adopts $40.2 million budget with 6.72 percent increase

NJ RANDOLPH — Randolph adopts $40.2M budget with 6.72 percent increase on divided vote. The Township Council approved the 2026 municipal budget of $40,220,942 with a 6 to 1 vote, Councilman Hathaway voting against. Township Manager Poff attributed the increase to rising health insurance and pension costs.
The budget raises the municipal tax rate from $0.498 to $0.537 per $100 of assessed valuation, resulting in an average residential tax bill increase of 2.80 percent or $404.65 annually. The council also unanimously passed capital ordinances totaling approximately $3.5 million in appropriations and authorizing $1.4 million in bonds for vehicle equipment, building upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
