Randolph Planning Board approves McDonald's development at Route 10

NJ RANDOLPH — The Randolph Planning Board unanimously approved McDonald's USA, LLC to construct a 36-seat restaurant with double-lane drive-thru at 765 Route 10 on May 4. Professional planner Alex Dougherty testified that variances for steep slope disturbance and signage meet Municipal Land Use Law standards, with benefits outweighing detriments. Traffic engineer Justin Taylor projected Level of Service D with maximum three-second wait times at the intersection.
The applicant agreed to safety improvements including an LED speed-limit sign, four rumble strips, do-not-block-the-box striping, shrub trimming, employee parking designation, and Fire Department approval.
